Text Box: Easter 1992, drummer Dave and Guitarist Colin Benmore decided to form a band. They enlisted the help of two friends Mark Griffiths (bass/ vocals) and vocalist Pat Gallagher. The line up was now complete and the Technical Itch was born.
Text Box: In June 1993 they played their first gig at a pub in Burnley and the band soon established themselves as one of the most well known live bands in Lancashire. Later in 1993 they cut their first three-track demo in the studio where a tape ended up in the hands of Jimmy Pursey from 80's band Sham 69.Jimmy Then booked the band to support him at the Mill in Preston and then invited the band to record a new track and debut single "Wigan to Brighton" which was released under the bands new name "The Itch" under a new record deal with Detour records. This quickly became one of Radio 1's DJ John Peel's favourite. He liked the single enough to ring the bands drummer Dave to say how much he liked it.

May 1997 saw the release of the bands first album "Avenue Parade" on Detour records. Friday 2nd January 1998, The Itch headlined at the 100 club in London and were joined on stage by Chris Pope from the Chords and almost a year later Chris also produced a couple of demo tracks for the band. The Itch also did a remake of Secret Affairs "Time for action" with Ian page on keyboards and adding some vocals to the track and released it on their own record label "Mod Inc".
April 99 Saw Ian page again join the band for their single launch in front of a sell out crowd in Rishton Lancs. where he performed Time for action. In 2000 The Itch performed at Mods Mayday events at Clacton and the Isle of White scooter Festivals. But when Pat Gallagher decided to call it a day just over five years ago, the bands future hung in the balance. After an unsuccessful search for a replacement, Bass player Mark Griffiths took on the extra duties giving the band a new lease of life.
The Band released their still Scratchin EP in January 06 which was produced by Ian Page and Phil Hendriks.
